Director of Music: Phil Zimmerman

Forest Park has a rich history in its Music Department and continues to have one of the finest choir programs in the city.  The Sanctuary Choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m and usually performs a cantata at either Easter or Christmas.  They have also participated in programs at other churches around the city.  The Carillon Bell Choir also meets on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m.  The Bell Choir has attended many handbell festivals over the years and has also shared their music with a number of organizations around Fort Wayne.  Phil Zimmerman directs both choirs and has been at Forest Park for 21 years.  Kathy Coulter serves as pianist for choir rehearsals as well as accompanying hymns on Sunday mornings and playing for the extra performances.

Both choirs welcome new members and information can be obtained by calling the church office.

Forest Park has a Schlicker Pipe Organ that was installed in 1996 after a fire destroyed their sanctuary.  The organ is one of the finest pipe organs in the city and is the focal point for the “Old Fashioned Hymn Sing” that is hosted at the church as part of the Three Rivers Festival.  The “Follow The Pipes” organization in Fort Wayne has also had concerts at Forest Park featuring the organ.
